GREEN LAKE TREK IN SIKKIM

The Green Lake trekking Area in northern Sikkim even though open to tourists, still require special restricted area permits to visit. The lake though has drained out into the adjacent Zemu glacier. The absence of the lake is compensated with splendid views all around with Kanchenjunga towering above.

The peaks of Simvo are just a short distance away. In late spring between mid May and June, the valleys of North Sikkim are filled with a variety of flowers like rhododendrons, blue poppies and primulaes.

YUKSOM DZONGRI GOECHA LA TREK IN SIKKIM

Yuksom Dzongri Goecha La trek is one of the famous trekking routes in Sikkim. While trekking from Yuksom to Dzongri to the Goecha La pass, you can see the majestic magnificence of Mount Kangchenjunga, Mount Kabru and Kabru Dome and a spectacular view of the other smaller Himalayan giants within its mountain range. Also, on this trek, you can see the beautiful Samiti Lake, Thangsing and Tsokha.

Yuksom is basically a historical place stating the true culture and tradition of Sikkim. It was the capital of Sikkim earlier and enacts to the Kangchenjunga National Park. You will see burdened forests of pine, magnolia, oak, spruces, rhododendron, maple, chestnut and many other types of pines culminating in the Dzongri field on this trek. Also, a wide variety of wild plants can be easily found on this trail.

TEA GARDENS AND KANCHENJUNGA

Tea gardens and Kanchenjunga tour beginning in the hill station of Kurseong, we take the famous toy train to Darjeeling, famous for its tea, before continuing into Sikkim to trek through the Barsey rhododendron sanctuary to open up on the Singalila ridge which offers panoramic views of Kanchenjunga. We then continue our journey through delightful towns and villages to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Views of Kanchenjunga don’t fade as we end our tour in the laid back town of Kalimpong. Throughout, Kanchenjunga does not evade us as we get views of this glorious mountain at different angles from different places on this trip.

GOECHA LA VIA KASTURI ORAR ROUND TREK

Goecha la via Kasturi orar round trek starts from Yuksom and goes up to Goecha La, the highest point of the trek. From here see the stunning view of Talung Glacier and Mt Kanchenjunga. The views are simply amazing and captivating. After finishing the Goecha La trek down to Thangsing and from here trek to Kasturi Orar through a dense forest where lianas tangle and moss and orchids hide tree trunks. Finish your trek at Thasiding and drive towards Gangtok.
