Dayara 'Bugyal', in local dialect, means 'high altitude meadows' or 'nature's own gardens'. Dayara Bugyal is a picturesque meadow, situated at an elevation of about 3, 048 meters above the sea level, located amidst snow capped Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarkashi district within the hill state of Uttarakhand in India. Dayara Bugyal is one of the most scenic spots of Uttarakhand with vast expanse of alpine grasslands. In terms of interesting activities one can do, Dayara Bugyal has a lot to offer. Apart from the breathtaking views of surrounding snow covered higher Himalayan peaks. Dayara Bugyal is ‘gentle’ landscape, breathtakingly beautiful meadows of alpine flowers and ease of access complement the rugged, mountain wilderness. Dayara Bugyal is splashed with colour as it bloomed with hundreds different beautiful flowers, taking on various shades of Colors as time progressed. While trekking towards Dayara Bugyal, one can experience the beauty of shining peaks fully covered with snow. One can also see the beautiful view of surrounding greenery and various running streams with crystal clear water.

Uttarkashi - Uttarkashi is a small and beautiful town, situated between two rivers:  Varuna and Ashi, whose water flow into the Bhagirathi from either side of the town. Elevated, at a height of 1588 meters, this little town is very similar to Kashi and Varanasi, in that it has the same kind of temples and ghats and likewise, a north or 'Uttar' facing river. The major temple in Uttarkashi is The Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Two other very important temples are located in the Chowk area are the Annapurna Temple and the Bhairav Temple. Once it is said, there were 365 temples here. Hiuen Tsang referred to this place as Brahma Pura, while the Skanda Puran has recorded it as Varunavata. It is believed that in the second millennium of Kaliyug Kashi will be submerged, and Uttarkashi will replace it as an important religious centre.
